When Powell was making the case for the war in Iraq I could tell he was selling us a bunch of crap, he had the same look and actions that a typical liar has. Then I watched him on Meet The Press when he came out in support for Obama and I saw that same look.

Here's the problem as I see it, he was lied to, he wasn't told what he was being told was full of holes. I do think he believed what he said, and when he found out he was used, he left the administration.


He did no appearances in support of Bush after he left.


When I saw him on Meet the Press, and the interview afterwards, he was sincere.


I think he was an honorable man whose honor was used to promote the war, and I don't think he like it one little bit.
power's support for obama is transparent, for sure. but false case for iraq? let's go through it,


the first iraq war never ended. we were in a cease fire. Hussain broke that by shooting at our plains in the no fly zone, trying to kill ex president bush (1). not allowing the un representatives do their jobs in verifying that he had no wmd's. then we did find stock piles of missles, warheads, chemical and biological weaponry, and 500 kilo tons of yellow cake uranium. Now i don't know about any one else, but i am confused as to how we define wmd's. Iraq had wmd's, bio, chem, and conventional weapons, should we have waited until those warheads were filled with the processed uranium, chem or bio ordanance before we attacked?
I have made many mistakes in the past and people have given me a second look. He like I am sure yourself have made a mistake he is still need the second look. The whole question of people trying to blame others for the mistakes the have made even when people have shown remorse for their deeds is not good it sounds hypocritical because the same people have made mistakes in the past which they are now sorry for and those people still want second chance themsevles but they will not give a second chance to anyone.
I think that by the time Powell left office he knew that Iraq was a terrible mistake and I think that Bush and Cheney probably lied to him and set him up for his part in the scam. What I don't understand is why he wouldn't have had better intel than was provided to him. Did he think the rest was wrong, did he look at it? Why didn't he know? He should have known. All that aside, I do like the guy, but I don't think it's that great of an endorsement.
The only motivation for Powell to lie is if he was supporting Obama due to race. This is personal opinion. Personally, I thought his reasoning was sound and answers well thought out. However, there is a contributing factor that they share the same race. Perception is everything, and you might completely disagree.
Colin Powell was a fine military man and a distinguished statesman.I am a conservative,but I would never tear down such a good man.I disagree with him,that is my right.Colin Powell has certainly earned the right to endorse whoever he wishes to.Sucks that it was Obama,but no one should smear Powell,he is a great man
His service to this country alone deserves respect. Just like all the Hollywood actors, TV hosts, they have access to media to tout their beliefs in an attempt to sway votes. What do I really care who Snoop Doggy, Tom Cruise, or anyone else votes for? Their financial situation is alot different than mine.


I still like Colin, not happy with his choice, but that is his decision and does not affect me. I ignore what others say. Why do you think Al-Quaeda endorsed McCain? lol After dealing with Bush do you really believe that? Just another poitical ploy to sway vote.
Powell was basing his information on what George Tenet, director of the CIA told him.





People in the white house are not making decisions in a vacuum, but have lots of advisers. So you can't say anyone is ever 100% responsible for anything or 0% responsible.
Why didn't you say something then? Start a blog, something. It's a pity, nobody saw it! You could have averted the war in Iraq! You could have been President!





But as such, YOU are to blame for the war in Iraq. YOU withheld information! Shame on YOU!
He has admitted it was the worst mistake of his life. He was lied to, also, and acted based on that false information. I'm not going to ignore all his accomplishments based on one time when he was duped by dubya.
Bush and his cronies fleeced the whole country on the Iraq war. Note that Powell resigned from the Bush administration after that whole scandal broke loose. I have a lot of respect for him.
Powell was following the Presidents orders to give the information he was given to the media.
Because we know Colin Powell was lied to just like the rest of the country and he resigned and left the party of liars.

When he quit the Bush administration he gained my utmost respect. After two terms of Obama I would vote for him for president.
