No unfortunately there is no such clear provision under the Indian Penal Code or the Criminal Procedure Code to punish any person making any wrong complaint for dowry. But if the family of the bride gives any dowry to the bride before or at the time of marriage they can be charged for giving dowry under the section3 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. Only recently in a false complaint made by the bride/wife against her husband %26amp; his family members had admitted that her parents had given dowry at the time of marriage but there was still more demand for the same by her husband %26amp; his family menbers,while going into the details/facts/evidence of the case the Delhi High Court came to the conclusion that such complaint was falsely made by the bride/wife against the husband %26amp; her other family members but since she had admitted that her parents had given dowry to her at the time of marriage they ordered them to be prosecuted for giving dowry under this provision of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. So you see even the justice not blind to judge the false cases under these provisions of the said Act %26amp; proper action is taken for filling false complaint for demanding dowry, by such bride/wife. The Supreme Court of India %26amp; even various high courts in India has clearly held filling false complaint against the husband %26amp; his family members for dowry, domestic violence, cruelty etc by the wife should be treated as a ground of cruelty %26amp; allow the decree of divorce in favor of the husband against such a wife.Do broom's family in india have any safeguards fro false dowary case?

No!! And these are being miusused on large scale by money hungry families by making their daughters prostitutes to satisfy their vested financial interests.





A lot of credit to this goes to the lawyers too who instigate women to file these to harass and convincing them that this is the best path to get a speedy divorce and get huge amounts by litrally holding the groom's families collars.





A bunch of Ministers recognise the misuse but do not have guts to do anything due to their counterparts like Renuka, Girija Vyas, etcs. Renuka Chowdary's own daughter too has files a Dowery Harassment Case against her UK based Industrialist Husband who probably has more money than what her Mother has been accumulating missusing her seat of Power.





Though Supreme court has given verdicts its all bullshit - the people named in thos fake cases are arrested - who is going to compensate this? Then who is going to compensate the number of years and time wasted? And all the Mental Trauma?





Even if you are in a Live-in Relationship you are still at the same risk - Domestic Violence!!





So ideally speaking either enzooy with one night stand - better choice and better variety!! And no risks of destroying your life by the misuse of stupid Indian Laws Made by Stupid Ministers and executed by a bunch of Curropt and Selfish Lawyers and Judges!!





Or if you are still for marriage migrate out of the country and get married to a foreign Lady - they are a million times better than the Indian ones especially from the Cosmos/Metros!! - At least they woudl not destroy your family members future!!

Definition Of Dowry :- Dowry or Dahej is the payment in cash or/and kind by the bride's family to the bridegroom' s family along with the giving away of the bride ( called Kanyadaan) in Indian marriage . Kanyadanam is an important part of Hindu marital rites. Kanya means daughter, and dana means gift.....





Though prohibited by law in 1961, the extraction of DOWRY from the bride's family prior to marriage still occurs. When the dowry amount is not considered sufficient or is not forthcoming, the bride is often harassed, abused and made miserable. This abuse can escalate to the point where the husband or his family burn the bride, often by pouring kerosene on her and lighting it, usually killing her. The official records of these incidents are low because they are often reported as accidents or suicides by the family. In Delhi, a woman is burned to death almost every twelve hours . The number of dowry murders is increasing. In 1988, 2,209 women were killed in dowry related incidents and in 1990, 4,835 were killed . It is important to reiterate that these are official records, which are immensely under reported. The lack of official registration of this crime is apparent in Delhi, where ninety percent of cases of women burnt were recorded as accidents, five percent as suicide and only the remaining five percent were shown as murder .





According to Government figures there were a total of 5,377 dowry deaths in 1993, an increase of 12% from 1992......

As such there are no safeguards as such but considering the false cases come into notice, the SC has come up with one ruling ordering the police to look into the matter before taking any stern action.
