What happens in a false rape case?

My friend who is a boy went to this girl's house a while ago. According to him, all they did was watch a movie and play video games, he doesn't even like her or is attracted to her. She really liked him during the school year, but she was kind of weird and almost obsessed. After a while, he said she got 'normal' and they became friends. So after he got home from her house and her mom came home, she told her mom that he raped her. He's freaking out because he didn't touch her. Her mom went to his house, told his parents and said they would call the police first thing in the morning. The girl was crying and it was believable and everything, but he doesn't know what to do.





What's going to happen once the police come? Are they going to question him and stuff? And how do they test to find out if he really did it or not? Because he's really scared :/





By the way, I'm pretty sure he's not lying. I believe him that he didn't do it.What happens in a false rape case?
He needs a good lawyer, now! This type of charge can really ruin his life. Conviction would make him a sex offender, he would have to register as one for life.





In cases of alleged rape like this, it's going to come down to a ';he said/she said situation ... just guess who the court will believe!





Of course, the guy should never, under any circumstances or for any reason, contact the accuser or her family. He should not meet with any member of her family, even if they request a meet, without his lawyer present. He should not discuss the case with anyone except his parents and his lawyer. Any statements he makes to the police should be in the presence of his lawyer.





He should be scared ... he could be in a lot of trouble, even if he never did a thing!





In the Duke lacrosse team rape scandal three members of the team went through 2 years of hell trying to find justice. Good luck to your friend ... be smart, do not go anywhere near this girl unless you have plenty of witnesses around, you do not want to buy a piece of that action! Warn your other friends too ... give the chick the ';leper treatment'; ... keep your distance, do not contact her, do not give the girl any chance to bring you into the mess. If she did it once, she might do it again.What happens in a false rape case?
His family should immediately hire a big, black, crackhead/meth-addict to visit her late, late at night and ';explain'; to her the difference between what is and what is not, rape.
Well, unfortunately false allegations of rape just like false allegations of child abuse are not that uncommon.





The allegations commonly come from rejected lovers, done for revenge, and sometimes just come from psychologically imbalanced people.





It will be his word against hers. She most likely did not have any kind of rape test, etc. as it would have hurt her rather than help.





He needs to go and consult with an attorney immediately concerning what he should do.





He needs to be ready, as cases such as this, just like false accusations of child abuse, are decided with emotion rather than fact. And it depends a lot of times just on the make up of the jury, as to whether someone will be found guilty or innocent.





There is usually no consequence or expense for false accusers. But it can be a real headache for the accused, and there are many in prison now for rapes that they did not commit. So you must take it seriously.
