Can a fan of a popular actor file a case against a newspaper that wrote false statement against the actor?

Does a fan have the right to file a case against a newspaper for defamation. The newspaper wrote a false statement against the actor which caused her reputation to suffer. Can a fan of a popular actor file a case against a newspaper that wrote false statement against the actor?
nope, sorry. in order to win a case for libel...

the person being libeled must be the one who brings suit

the newspaper must be proved to have had malicious intent when printing the article.

also, famous people very rarely win libel suits. generally, those in the ';public eye'; are fair game to say just about anything about because most statements about them can be considered political speech which is strongly protected by the first amendmentCan a fan of a popular actor file a case against a newspaper that wrote false statement against the actor?
You have to be able to prove your case and spend lots of money. Seeing as how you don't know all the intimate details of the actor's life you may not be able to find a lawyer who will take the case. THEN on top of that you will no doubt have the actor suing you.
No you can't. Only the person the defamation is directed to. Plus, the media lies all the time.
No, you have no legal standing to bring suit. You are not the injured party therefore you cannot initiate a suit.
NO!!! Thats absurd.....he doesn't know you. When he got into the business he was fully aware of the false statements and bad mouthing against him.
No. Only the person who is allegedly defamed can.
absolutely! consult an attorney you may have a case
no lol thats ridiculous. NO way
