Evidence is a key role. many time charges are dropped due to conflicting stories or by the spouseHow often are domestic violence cases found to be false allegations?
Let me ask you this have you ever had an argument with your lady or guy and he or she throw a shoe or you made so much noise the people next door called the cops. when they get to you and you say a shoe was thrown that domestic violence. and the cop has to take action and more then likely he will make the situation harder for you both he has to make a report so its not a question of false report its was it wroth the report I just need to say that but to answer you 20% are just some one pissed off so much they go down that road and lie.How often are domestic violence cases found to be false allegations?
About 80% if you are referring to arrest/conviction ration.
Very few result in convictions but that is changing, some states are enacting laws that force the complainant to testify, or allow hearsay since prosecutors have such a low conviction rate under normal rules.
I don't believe it is very often, Typically an officer needs to see some evidence of a domestic violence crime which could be bruises or scratches or even damage to property. Without that it is difficult for the State to prosecute the crime. Officer don't usually go on just the complaint with something to back it up
